Joint cartilage, also called articular or hyaline cartilage, is the white gristle at the end of long bones.
The word 'chondral' is an adjective, describing a noun. For example -

- chondral blood supply
If one refers to the cartilage and underlying bone, one uses 'osteochondral'. For example -
- osteochondral defect
- osteochondral transplant
- osteochondral damage
- osteochondritis
