Double varus is bow legs (varus deformity) are accompanied by demonstrable lateral collateral ligament damage laxity, with lateral joint opening.

 

To be successful, any bony osteotomy to correct the alignment problem must be accompanied by soft tissue correction of the ligament laxity.
