An MRI should show any tears in the ligaments that are causing your knee and ankle to twist. Did you get the MRI results yet?

Icing should help with the swelling until you can get a doctor to fix the problem, and also make sure to avoid any aggravating activities (easier said than done..)
Have had tilted kneecaps for many years, and occasional patellar tendinitis.

had mri done he said we have a lot of jacksons whats ya dat of birth
mri came back ok
now with walking over to the left other knee rattles when i shake it
both of these knees had a clunk that why i whent swimming to get my quads strong to support them and it worked for 8 years then it whent when i was swimming cant pull a proper quad mussle on it without holding with hand above knee cap
now it seems like the patela that tracks has worne away watery knees or if i take bruffen dry knees
this also makes my feet cold
its like somthing under my knee cap on the worst left hand where the ankle goes in is dead like a dead bursa or somthing
cant walk that far now and wearing ankle strap on left foot

The way that you describe your symptoms is a bit confusing to me. How did your problem start initially - did all these symptoms just come on their own, or did you have an injury that started it all?

Have you got the actual MRI report? Are you able to read it out to us?

their was slight narowing of the cartlige on the inside of the leg
today it has spread to the other knee under the knecap both of them now feel like fatty tisue but i can still bend my leg
when i shake the best leg it rattles. now
on the other leg the ankle hurts on the inside like its worne.
it all started with like water under me knees like bursitus but it was not swelled up big.
i always had a bit of a clunk in me left knee but nothing that hurt me.
now when i walk to far the knee hurts and me ankle hurts on the inside of the left leg.
and it moves forward a bit
the docs stuff says mri of left knee minor joint spacing medially.
how this stuff under me kneecap has not shown up on an mri i am at a loss it realy does feel like fatty tissue that dead
or im growing bigger bursas under me knee. or its rumatoid authritus cos its affected my feet also.
but why did it start after swimming

So, it seems as if the MRI was not very helpful to you, other than alerting you to some joint space narrowing on the medial side. As the space of the jioont on the medial side is the medial meniscus, it appears from that MRI that there may be some degeneration of the medial meniscus.

I have never before heard anyone describe the knee as 'rattling'. I wonder if you meant 'crepitus'? Crepitus is more a crunchy sound, as if one has a handful of Rice Krispie breakfast cereal and you softly crush them. Crepitus usually makes itself more evident on bending and straightening the knee, such as going up staris or squatting.

May I ask another question? Are/were you a competitive swimmer? If so, what kind of stroke (eg crawl, breaststroke). What kind of distances were you regularly swimming?

sorry have not replied but things have moved on.
i seem to be compensating over to the better leg a bit on the right
i have had me hands with little sores on them which looks like rumi but nothing on blood count for it
yesterday whent for a little walk on the flat road made it round the block at a push (i dont give in easy)
and after my knee started to dry up of all the small amount of water feels like in it and feet when warm
THEY USUALLY GO COLD BUT THAT MIGHT BE WITH LIMITED WALKING
no not pro swimmer just did it for 7 years to make me quads stronger and it worked had no problems up till doing breast sstroke one day like i said then shit happened swelling under knee cap that then spread into my other knee.
if you are not walking correctly altough i feel like i am after 5 months of this it places a lot of problems in other areas like kneck back arms etc etc.
saw romitoid guy he said it was pattela tendonitus
I SAID WHY IS THAT NOT SHOWING ON XRAYS OR THE MRI SCAN DONE.
im at a loss with this pulled it back last time with me swimming now gone worse
i see the knee specialist on the 10 oct dont know weather to ask him to rip into the worst knee see whats going on with a camera
only prob is thats the leg that the inside of me ankle tends to hurt also.
any info on where i go from here would be appritiated.
like i said pulled back last time and feet would go cold last time then after 12 months it stopped.
just feels like all ya bones are drying out

Breaststroke quite commonly causes knee problems. There are several structures on the inside of the knee that might be affected by poor swimming action - medial synovial plica, medial meniscus, medial collateral ligament, the pes anserine bursa etc.

AT THE MOMENT IM GETTING SOME REAL WONDURFULL VIBRATIONS UNDER THAT KNEE CAP LIKE WATTERY SUBSTANCE AGAIN.
AND I KNOW IM COMPENSATING TO THE OTHER NO HARD I TRY TO NOT DO THIS WHEN WALKING

Hi
You keep referring to your 'ankle', but sometimes in this conversation I have wondered if we are talking about the same thing. When you say 'ankle' are you meaning the ankle of your foot or the joint line of the knee? Or something else?

sorry not been on for a bit but me hands started to get swelling on the fingers so paid a private rumi who said it was sponduloarthpy enthesis got a kenolouge injection and got mor grip in me hands now.
but the knees under the knee cap is giving constant aches and ankle on that side.
some years ago when it when i used to massarge the knee and ankle and got it right
still some swelling in it like water thats turned to some sort of spongy stuff
and when i massarge me ankle at night cant feel that nerve that is near the ankle as much.
was wondering if my Peroneal Nerve has been damaged mind you i dont know if it runs under the knee cap and that is sort of affecting the ankle somehow.
any ideas

Hi
I think that your problem does indeed sound more 'rheumatological' than due to a local process.
