This is such a good article, and from the clinic of one of the most respected knee surgeons in the world - that I thought I would just put it up at the top here, and make the post 'sticky' so that it is always easy to find -

Thanks for posting the link to the info on microfracture. I'm sure it will be helpful to many people since there's been so much talk on the board about OS not being on the same page with regard to rehab. That same well known and highly regarded OS gave a very informative talk on microfracture at an orthopedic conference a couple years ago.There is a video of the talk in the video library on Ortho Supersite. I posted a link to it a while back and started to add it to the sticky thread on microfracture, but decided I would ask for your OK before doing so.

If you want to take a look at the video, here is a link to the website:

Look for the "video library" near the bottom of the home page. It's in an orange box near the bottom in the second column of text. The video is called "Patterns of Articular Cartilage Lesions Amenable to Microfracture" and is listed at the top page 4. I think you have to be a registered user to view the videos, but registration is free. It's a little hard to find, but definitely worth watching.

Note - the really important stuff about rehab starts at about 47 mins into the video. For info DJD=degenerative joint disease, Lysholm=a scoring system to gauge improvement. KNEEguru
