does chemical ablation work on plica tissue?

plica irritation is caused by the plica being thickened, so it Impinges between the patella and the tibia

there isn't many nerves in a plica, so maybe ablation won't work for this - maybe it.only.works on highly innervated tissue like fat pad?

Alcohol Ablation in UK

Does anyone know anyone in the uk that performs alcohol/ethanol nerve ablation on the knees?

it's supposed to be better than trimming the sensitive tissue

if anyone could help that would be great.

thank you

can arthroscopy scars cause impingement when straightening your knee?

I know that they can cause a tight feeling when your knee is extended but how about a feeling of impingement below the knee area[inferior to the patella]?

Or is that more likely caused by fat pad impingement?

does lidocaine reduce symptoms of fibrotic fat pad pain?

I've seen it mentioned its a good way to test if the patient has Hoffa's syndrome, but how about fibortic fat pad tissue specifically - would it work for that?

I mean symptoms like pain on extending the knee

When resectioning a infrapatellar plica is untethering of the fat pad required?

This study mentions "untethering of the fat pad is performed by release and resection of the infrapatellar plica"

am I right in saying then there's no way to excise without also having to do untethering of the fat pad?

Re: How long does inflammation from plica arthroscopy take to fully subside?

Fat pad inflammation? Bursitis? (have you been squatting or kneeling on it?) Try icing the area/apply a topical anti inflammatory? Plus rest of course And if so, roughly how long would it take for the inflammation that's caused by jagged cartolqge to go away, if you got rid of the underlying cause?...

Fat pad inflammation? Bursitis? (have you been squatting or kneeling on it?) Try icing the area/apply a topical anti inflammatory? Plus rest of course None of those but I did have jagged edges in the cartilage which the surgeon rounded off, do you know if doing this should get rid of further inflam...

Re: How long does inflammation from plica arthroscopy take to fully subside?

Scar tissue around nerves? How much pain do you have? Does medication help, eg a nerve pain med like gabapentin? Scar tissue can get inflamed too and cause issues. Contact your surgeon if the pain is severe and intractable, ie does not respond to analgesia or other pain medication. A scan should sh...

Re: How long does inflammation from plica arthroscopy take to fully subside?

Yes there is scar tissue at the incision sites areas but I'm not sure how scar tissue can cause pain?

Only things I know that can cause pain in knee joint area are the nerves and there being inflammation

I seen a lot of people here mention after plica arthroscopic removal when they straighrn or bend their knee they get a popping in their kneecap area, I sometimes get this too What does be the cause of this, is it from the kneecap rubbing against the scar tissue that has grown in place of the removed...

what direction should portal scar tissue lumps be massaged towards?

The last surgery they removed a medial plica that was supposedly compressing 1/3 of my knee capsule. This lump sometimes catches when I'm walking so I planned on massaging it to help prevent/reduce catching when I'm walking, but I'm not sure which direction I should be massaging it towards, would yo...

How long does massage work to remove lumps from incision site?

I had arthroscopy done 5 months ago and had the incision site lump ever since - would massage still work to remove the lumps or am I too late?

I've read scar tissue can only be manipulated through massage for up to 14 weeks
