Re: 5 months post op, still on crutches, extreme swelling and pain

I went 6 month in a lot of pain, never able to regain normal gait or make progress after ACL revision(couldnt do leg lifts, etc due to pain). My knee was not red or overly swollen but I finally went for second opinion, at first the second surgeon thought I was imagining things, but upon an X-ray an...

Re: About 3 months out from ACL Autograft and have a nasty symptom

Sorry you had the same thing. It's painful. I have all but stopped PT. I need to start again but it just hurts too much. I cannot take NSAIDS anymore but I can probably get the cream for the knee. I've been resting it up for a week or so now, I am going to try and start up PT again next week.

Re: One Month Post-Op Patellar Tendon Autograft Reconstruction

Hi...ty for replying. To be honest it's not that great. It's not horrible either though. I am about to switch PT's again because I was shloffed off on an intern who cannot manually manipulate my leg, therefore, I can't get anymore bend out. My doctor warned me of this and told me to leave if this ev...

Re: About 3 months out from ACL Autograft and have a nasty symptom

Thank you so much Brandon.

Yes I thought it was odd that I was being sold devices and surgeries for nerve damage so fast and no, I absolutely do not want to get on psychotropic meds for pain.

Re: About 3 months out from ACL Autograft and have a nasty symptom

My doctor from NY said to not feel badly, that most all his patients have to take narcotics while in PT because it's so painful after the graft....especially when we start serious weight bearing exercises like squats, etc. He told me to try and go to a pain doctor here in Florida after telling me th...

Re: Quad failure/nerve damage from nerve block in patella tendon surgery

Omg I am so sorry. I guess I am dealing with something similar. I cannot even exercise properly to build the quad because of pain and inflammation so my PT gives me Russian stimulation which is supposed to build the quad back fast. I definitely would not call this fast but I know the very scary feel...

Re: About 3 months out from ACL Autograft and have a nasty symptom

Hi Brandon, Yes it is still there and on occasion just kills me. I had to take 10mg of oxy last night (for the first time in several weeks) after suffering severely for 2 hours. I hate the crap but I just cannot stand the pain sometimes. It's still happening today and I am talking to the doctor toda...

About 3 months out from ACL Autograft and have a nasty symptom

Hi all, I reached my 3 month mark (almost) and I woke up one day with a HEUUUGE lump on the top of the kneecap that was K I L L I N G me. I went to the surgeon and what did he say? He was SOOO upset that my flexion was at 120 (?) that he completely ignored the fact that I had this lump and told me t...

Re: 5 months post op, still on crutches, extreme swelling and pain

Wowie. Bless your heart. This is exactly what happened to my husband. The meniscus doubled over UNDERNEATH his kneecap, frayed, etc. They had to go back in and take more out. Not sure if that is your case but maybe a second opinion?

Re: Knee swelled up after my leg got bumped while it was straight (PLS ANSWER!!)

Oh NOOOOOOO I wouldn't give a dad gum what the PT said. If someone bumped my leg and it hyper extended backward (which is what it sounds like you are describing) I would have that puppy MRIed ASAP. I'm sorry to sound alarming but I have heard at LEAST a dozen stories about people re-snapping the gra...

Wow. This is amazing and inspiring. I am just in the clouds for you. That took a LOT of courage and strength to go through all that you did to get back to where you are now. Congratulations and good luck.

Re: Arthroscopy, Chondroplasty, Microfracture w/ Biocartilage Application and TTO

Sorry there...I had an Autograft ACL patellar repair. I just wanted to say your doctor sounds like an A$$ Hat and I wouldn't give a rat's patootie what he said about how I will look and what my limits were in the future. I was told I wasn't healing fast enough and though I am not perfect, I can walk...

Re: Consecutive Acl issues

Jumping jacks? 7 months after a SECOND ACL recon? Omg RUN from that crap. Strike that. WALK SWIFTLY. I would have laughed in their face if they told me to do jumping jacks under those conditions. We are just not 17 years old with Gumby bodies anymore. Why does everyone seem to be following the Adria...
