Can patellofemoral pain sydrome cause nerve pain?

I was diagnosed with patellofemoral pain syndrome a few years ago and I went to physical therapy for it. It helped with the pain for awhile but I had to stop going to physical therapy sessions because my insurance only covered it for a short time. The past few months, I have been having very bad ner...

Re: Severe pain from Miserable Malalignment

No I haven't yet, I am not able to with my current insurance. I will be switching insurance companies in a couple months and hopefully I should be able to see a specialist by next year

Re: Severe pain from Miserable Malalignment

Well I have been to a few doctors for my knee problems and they looked at my knees and said there is nothing wrong with me and I should just take painkillers for any pain I have. It's so hard to find a doctor that will take me seriously that I have kind of given up

Re: Severe pain from Miserable Malalignment

I also have this big bump under my knee...I've had it for years now. I am not sure if it is cartilage or bone but it's painful when I sit on my knees because of it.

Re: Severe pain from Miserable Malalignment

I think I will check out the book... To be honest, resting doesn't help at all and makes the pain worse. The more active I am, the less the pain is. But I can't be active all the time though, for instance at night, or if I'm somewhere where I have to sit for a period of time, the pain gets really ba...

Re: Severe pain from Miserable Malalignment

I am currently on government insurance so my options right now are limited...but I may change insurance in the next few months.

I believe it's an overuse injury and not anatomical...I started having this problem as a teen and the pain got worse over time. So it is possible to fix it without surgery?

Severe pain from Miserable Malalignment

I have been diagnosed with Patellofemoral pain syndrome last year due to maltracking of both my knees. I went to physical therapy for awhile. It did help at first but now even doing the exercises only gives temporary relief. Lately I have been in so much pain especially at night. The only thing that...

I think I have Miserable Malalignment Syndrome

I wrote before how I think I may have Osgood Schlatters. I went to the doctor and they took x rays and the results came back negative. I am not sure what it is, could it be something else? I have a bump below my knee and I also think I may have Miserable Malalignment Syndrome. I looked online and my...

Undiagnosed Osgood Schlatters

I also posted this in another forum but decided maybe I should post here as well. I feel better knowing there are other people who have the same health condition as me and that I can talk to. Since I was 11, I had these bony bumps under my knees, but I never had it diagnosed (I am an adult now.) I a...

What do you do if a doctor doesn't take your pain seriously

Since I was 11, I had these bony bumps under my knees, but I never had it diagnosed. Recently I have been having a lot of pain in my knees and legs, which is getting worse. I looked up the symptoms and I believe I may have Osgood Schlatter Disease. I went to the ER last night and the doctor said I w...

Self-conscious about my knees

I have had an undiagnosed knee condition for years, since I was about 10 or 11. I always knew there was something wrong with my knees but for some reason I never told anyone. I am almost 29 now, and started looking up my symptoms online. I think I may have Osgood Schlatter Disease and I have big bum...
