Re: Radiofrequency ablation for knee pain

I had the Diagnostic genicular nerve block which you have before ablation to see if it is likely to help. I can honestly say I have never experienced pain like it. It was like having a hot knife stuck into nerves. zero positive effect and I was in that much pain they kept having to stop as I was sta...

Re: Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy Recovery and Advice

I had TTT surgery and was told the brace has to stay on at all times apart from when washing. I agree its uncomfortable at night but you do get used to it-and at least with brace on there is no danger of shifting knee badly in sleep and having a rude painful awakening. will admit the stockings i too...

Re: Cortisone Injection

I've had two in same knee. first one by hospital consultant , worked really well and reduced pain for about 3 months, second one by GP which did nothing . neither were painful when done, in fact the local hitting the spot was wonderful and with both I made my own way home by public transport. can't ...

Re: Elective Amputation

i too would be worried about phantam nerve pain as it is said to be common among those who have had an amputation.
has he tried having the nerves deadened? I had a trial of that which sadly did not work for me but I have heard it can be wonderful for those whom it does work

Re: Shoulder Tightening for hypermobility

I would say yes. I was only identified as hypermobile a couple of years ago- mid 40s. my knees, shoulders, hips , ankles all slide out. back iffy too. I used to think was just being over sensitive to movements that are normal . knee surgeon pointed out was not normal. pain tolerance- I used to have i...
