Re: When do you start patellar mobs and can doing it too strongly cause scar tissue?

You know I'm not really doing much rehab because I have full flexion and extension. When I was in Vail I was weight bearing in about five days - the same as here and didn't use the CPM. I don't know where I'd rent one in this country anyway. I tried and was met with a brick wall. But this scar tissu...

When do you start patellar mobs and can doing it too strongly cause scar tissue?

I'm in this quandry here. I started patellar mobs myself the day after surgery but took it easy. As it began to hurt less, I went at it more strongly. The thing I went in for has come right back. A small spot, that because it's so small pulls everything and if anything, is more painful than a diffus...

The continuing saga of the scar tissue formation

Thanks everyone for the comments on my various problems. Here's the state of play two weeks post op. I aggresively gave the knee patellar mobilizations and it seems to have reddened the whole leg. Went today to have stitches out and Dr. took sample of blood. Figures I may have phlegmon. I have had t...

When is a cortisone shot indicated after arthrofibrosis surgery?

Continuing on from my post "can scar tissue come back",

it seems to have as I say. It's 12 days out of surgery and I can still see the 'dimple'. Is it too late
for a cortisone shot?

Where are they put? I'm sure my OS doesn't know.

Re: Can scar tiissue come back in a week?

Hi,

Thanks for the answers.

I always have full rom and even now, but whatever seems to caught on the anterior bony part of the knee and forms a dimple. Could it be the tendon?
Whatever it is, it's very debilitating, it seems to be one main little spot at the moment.

Can scar tiissue come back in a week?

I've just had an operation here in Japan and was weight bearing pretty quickly.

I think the scar tissue has come right back and I only had the surgery a week ago. Is it possible?

Janet, Pam, all the experts:- Am I doing the right thing?

Well, the scar tissue has grown back since Vail and I will be getting an LOA done here in Japan by my good but unfamiliar with scar tissue surgeon. As it is only a lysis, I thought it would be okay but after rereading the posts on only having someone with experience do these things, I'm having secon...

Patellar Mobilizations? Have to guide my therapist. Any tips?

I will be having a lysis of adhesions in Japan and am not sure my therapists know of this method.

Are there any printed or step by step guide that they could follow.

How many lysis(es)? can one have and how specialized does the OS have to be?

After not having any success in the US, I am going to take the plunge and have the scar tissue removed in Japan where I live. Now, my OS is very nice but he has limited knowledge of this. Lysises seem to be routine enough. I can bend the knee just fine but it's the familiar rope around it feeling. I...

Re: Steadman? Noyes? Oh, the quandry!

Janet, Thanks for the last reply. I am busy making reservations and planning stuff. I'll ask you another question if you don't mind. You seem to be one of the oracles here. My knee bends fine, just like a rope constricting movement and thus radiating out and affecting muscles and huge what looks lik...

Made the decision - Noyes it is! Has anyone been after a TKR?

Hi, It's your Japan correspondent here. Just thought I'd check in. I hope this visit with Dr.Noyes, coming up February 27th will prove fruitful. I'm worried as to how long I should stay there and mostly if the scar tissue is going to come back. Making yet another big expensive self paid foray out th...

Re: Steadman? Noyes? Oh, the quandry!

Thanks, Janet and missmyknee. So depressing, isn't it. Today, especially. Who would have thought life could change so drastically. I guess I shall have to gird my loins and go somewhere. I really appreciate this site and its caring members. Is anyone ever free of the stuff. Do you keep having to go ...

Re: Steadman? Noyes? Oh, the quandry!

I want to thank everyone at this late date for replying to me. I did go with Dr. Steadman but the scar tissue has come back with a vengeance. i wonder if I would have been better to go to a Dr. who handled arthofibrosis after a TKR. My problem is the extension is fine but there is a ball of scar tis...
