Re: thigh pain after adhesion removal

Hi. thanks for the replies. The pain is wearing off slightly so i guess it is muscular. I still haven't got full extension so i am trying to work on that as well as regaining my quads. I did manage to walk to the end of my road and back today so that's an achievement! My first physio appointment is ...

thigh pain after adhesion removal

Hi. 12 days ago i had another scope to remove adhesions. My knee is feeling sore but pretty good compared to previous surgeries. However, when i do exercises such as quad contractions and straight leg rasies about 2 inches above my knee on the inner side i feel an acute pain. This same pain which is...

Re: pls help- chondromalacia/ fat pad symptoms??!!

Thanks Heather. I thought my last surgery had got rid of most of the scar tissue but it definitely doesn't feel right STILL!!! It would be easier for me to accept my OS's diagnosis and 'live with it' but i feel i haven't gone through so much in the past two years to be left with an non- functionning...

pls help- chondromalacia/ fat pad symptoms??!!

Hi. I have just got back from an OS appointment and am not really happy with what he had to say. He feels I still have some adhesions and the articular cartilage has deterioated as it is making a lot more crunching sounds. My main problems are pain when walking more than 5 mins- feels like something...

frustrated with progress

. Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me . It has been 4 months since my last surgery- scope to clear adhesions. Before the last surgery I could barely bend my knee past 30 degrees and now have fairly good flexion. However, when I stand my knee is painful. The pain is the whole length of my scar...

Re: Tight ligament update - revision surgery neede

Hi Jo- my osteopath use infrarential treatment on me- it feels q uncomfy - a bit like a hedgehog being stabbed into your leg but i think it has helped to keep the little bit of VMO i have alive!! Re: Tight ligament update - revision surgery neede

Hi all. Cheeky- really glad to hear things have gone so well for you- about time you had some good luck. It's such a shame muscles don't reappear as soon as they disappear- looks like quite a few more gym sessions for you! I decided to go and speak to the pain managment doctor and to my surprise she...

Re: newbie needs physio advice

Hi. Sorry to hear about your knee problems. Unfortunately getting physio on the NHS is tricky- generally you are only given a limited amount of sessions which is not enough. I had to join a private gym but some gyms will give you a discount if they are run through the council and you have medical re...

Re: Tight ligament update - revision surgery neede

Hi Jo- thanks for the reassurance. I find walking the worse thing but after being on the bike or cross trainer it does feel a bit looser. I'm finding taping my knee helps a bit as my knee maltracks quite badly. I think I will just have to put up with it and hope there are some buses in france!! Am l...

Re: Tight ligament update - revision surgery neede

Hey Cheeky- was keeping my fingers crossed for you yesterday hope it went ok. Jo- glad to hear your back is ok that must be a relief. The numbness thing does sound pretty weird but i suppose its not surprising your nerves are still buzzing about after being disturbed twice over the past year. I supp...

Re: problems walking

Hi Christina and Janet - thanks for both your messages. My OS said I had tendonitus thanks to my previous surgeon doing my ACL recon as open surgery.I also get pain radiating down to my shin. Pressing down on my 3 inch scar is really painful. My therapist had been massaging over it and around it rea...

Re: problems walking

Hi Janet and Heather Thanks for your messages. I will definitely try the hurdles exercise . I have been considering seeing a gait analysis specialist as despite a lot of exercise I can't seem to get rid of the hip lift thing. I seem to be caught in the vicous circle of not being able to improve beca...

problems walking

Hi. This might sound a bit strange but when i walk it feels a bit like i am a puppet on a string! I can almost fully straighten my leg but when it comes to bending my knee on the swing through stage there is a delay when i try to bend my knee so it feels like someone else is controlling my knee. It ...

Re: Tight ligament update - revision surgery neede

Hi! I thought the article was interesting- after 4 ops, seeing 4 surgeons and 20+ physios I definitely have first hand experience of the difference in opinion on how to treat knee injuries. I feel better about my situation now after seeing the OS yesterday. He was happy with the progress I made and ...
