My 81 year old mother had TKR surgery on both knees on March 1, 2004 at The Cleveland Clinic. She had severe osteoartritis and was suffering greatly. When her surgery was complete the physician told us that her knee cap (patella) was extremely thin and fragile.
Last July she ruptured her patellar tendon in her right knee and she had surgery again to try repair that, but the tendon became unattached from the patella soon after and pulled right through the suchures.
What alternatives does my mother have, if any? I'd appreciate any help one can provide.
Thanks!
