.Just came from Dr
« on: August 27, 2004, 11:06:47 PM »
Hi all.
This is my second time here. I just came from the dr and it looks like I have something torn in my knee. I'll be having an mri and this is my ?. I have lost a lot of weight but still need to lose 100 lbs

Has anyone had knee surgery while they were very overweight?? And if I decide to put off surgery until I lose m.ore weight, would physical therapy help in the meantime.  What about water aerobics?? Right now it hurts just to stand.

Thanks Rochelle

First of all, having any form of surgeyr while being really over weight carrys it's own risks.   Depending on the type of surgery you might have,  and how long you might be non weight bearing on that leg, would depend how much stress being over weight would put on your recovering body.    You should check with your Doctors to be really sure.
