From MSNBC.com today:

NEW YORK - Patients taking the Vioxx arthritis drug had a 50 percent greater chance of heart attacks and sudden cardiac death than individuals using Pfizer Inc. rival Celebrex medicine, according to a large study financed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Thanks for the link...I forwarded it to my father who is a doctor. He prescribes Vioxx on a more or less regular basis..

EDIT - And I do use it too!

Glad I never used it... that also depends on lots of things... but regardless, thank god I've never taken it... or even heard of it.
1/15/04 = ACL Rupture (fully torn)
11/17/04 = ACL Recon. Surgery

Huh who knew, wonder what the age range study was... i'm only 24 ... I used to take Vioxx, it didn't really help, Celebrex made me aneamic and Bextra is the only thing I have found that really works.
