LCL Sprain, Capsule Sprain or Meniscus Tear???
« on: August 27, 2004, 03:11:35 AM »
Hi All

13 months ago I had a scope for a lateral meniscal tear which was debrided.  Things have been pretty OK with the joint since,as good as can be expected anyway.  Anyway 3 weeks ago I fell/twisted off the couch (tickle fight) and twisted my knee.  I felt a tight/sore stretch which hurt and then things seemed OK.  Then that afternoon and from then on it hurt, was a bit stiff, a little swolen, throbbed and was sore to touch enough to make me limp.  All this was on the lateral side only.  I went and saw my OS who did some manual tests and thought I had sprained it.  Didnt say where.  Just that it could take a few weeks to get better and to come back in 6 weeks if it wasnt better.  He said he didnt think Id retorn my meniscus.  Anyway, it has been 3 weeks tomorrow and it is pretty much the same.  I have been resting it.  Does anyone have any ideas, opinions, thoughts?  I am really fretting I have retorn.  I couldnt stand having more surgery, and I am travelling for 6 months in March...
