Actually it's not that weird of question. There has been extensive research done regarding the effects of hormones on ligamentous structures. It has been shown that during menstruation, the ligaments are actually looser, which some have hypothesized can account for the higher number of noncontact ACL tears in females. However, other studies have shown that the menstrual cycle cannot explain the high number of ACL tears which occur in female athletes. There are numerous other theories, which I won't go into here.
