Getting Up Stairs Is So Painful - What Can I do ??
« on: August 21, 2004, 10:55:58 PM »
Heya folks, maybe you can help me out.

I am currently 22 and my knees make me feel like a 70yr old man.  Walking up a flight of stairs causes my knees to feel like they are under pressure (actually on the knee itself), the best way I can explain it is like a fatigue, I am physically out of breath when I get up the stairs however I am fit, I goto the gym 5 times a week but my knees are really limiting my progress.

Getting up stairs is not only difficult now but painful.  I also have a clicking noise come from both knees when I neal down.  My balance is very poor and to be honest it's beginning to bother me a hell of a lot.

If anyone could perhaps help or explain whats going on, I went to my doctor but he's useless, so at the moment im suffering ... in errr, well silence !

Thanks for your time folks.

- Probby

Hey there !!!

Well, first of all what kind of doc did you see ?
Kneespecialist ? What did he/she do with you,tests,x-rays, Mri ,bloodtests ?
What do you normally do at the gym, what kind of excercises ?
Have you ever had any damages in knees, swelling ?
Let me know a bite more then maybe I can help.

My knee is like that also.. it cracks and creaks trying to get up stairs.. and it's been like that since i was 11. I suggest you really talk to your OS and explain it to him.. take it easy too.. staires can be really really bad.

Good luck.
