issues with ITB
« on: August 03, 2004, 11:43:58 AM »
currently conducting a study on ITB and the treatment of it in highly active people.  If anyone's had issues with ITB can you describe the pain, the length endured and the sports you do (if any)  ???

I have tight ITB and have tried everything to stretch them! The pain is really hard to describe it I said it was like a friction burning pain. The pain can be provoked by pushing along the length of my ITB - it can be quite superficial. As mine are tight they feel like a elastic band that could be 'pinged' under the skin. The length of time the pain lasts for can be up to three weeks, it depends what I'm doing. I am highly active even with dodgy knees: I used to be a ballet dancer, before going to uni where I know row for the first 8 at national standard (involves 4 on water sessions, 4 40 minutes runs and 3 weight sessions a week) and I'm part of an atheltics squad, as well as having a highly active job
Hope that helps.

You should probably look through this section.  Go all the way back looking for ITB posts and you will find a lot.  We posted symptoms, things we did that aggravated the pain, etc.
