« on: July 27, 2004, 06:19:24 PM »
:-/ on the 11 june i uderwent the above opperation on both knees and had a partial removal of something or other(could not understand jargon used) yesterday my surgeon could not understand why i was in so much pain and was still using crutches even though i did all my exercises and apart from some arthritis i should not have been in so much pain, he gave me cortozone injections in both knees and now i am pain free but how long do they last and i have heard that the pain comes back worse. :-/

You should be walking/hobbling now without crutches... Maybe it is taking longer because both knees were done. I had a arthroscopy and patella refixture on my left knee and started walking without crutches at 3 weeks. I have pain only when I am doing my bending exercises. I dont think pain can come back worse. I think you just get used to being pain-free and when it returns you think it is worse. Dont worry some people take longer than other to recover  :D Good luck!
