8 month post op
« on: July 05, 2004, 11:06:01 AM »
It's been almost 8 months sense I had my open lateral release with a VMO advancement..

Everything is doing great!!!  My knee still get's sore and it does swell some after heavy use.  I no longer have pain anymore, just more like mussel soreness.. I am now able to ride my horse with no problems. This past week I rode 4 days in a row for over 6 hours.. I was a bit sore, and my knee swelled a little, but after icing it and a good nite sleep, it was good in the morning..

The only thing I have a real hard time doing is running, I can jog, but not run..

My last doctor appt was in June, and he released me, he also told me I may never get all my mussel back in my leg, so with that I stopped PT and been handling it myself.. It's slow, but I am getting stronger everyday.

I am very happy now, and I am happy I had the surgery, I can now ride my horse without pain..

Just wanted to update everyone, sense it's been awhile.
