Seeing Knee Guru On Friday!!!
« on: July 01, 2004, 02:07:43 AM »
I have at last got an appointment to see the knee specialist on Friday. What can i expect to happen, will he examine my knee or what? I gather from the receptionist it is a half hour chat, not long considering i had to wait weeks just for the privellege of having a chat!!!
My knee is still giving me alot of discomfort, it went on me again this week in bed!!! Not as bad as my fall a month or so ago which left me on crutches.  :'( :'( My GP reckons i have a torn cartilage. Is there any chance i will get whisked in for knee op next week???  ??? ???
I want to get the damn thing sorted now as i walk to work, rely on public transport and cannot drive!!!.  RRRRR!!!!  >:(

I can't imagine having an appointment and not having him examine your knee. What would be the point? And actually, a 30 minute visit is a long time, so he must be planning on an exam and consultation.

Have you had x-rays, and MRI or other tests? If so, make sure you take the reports with you.

As for surgery, it would depend on how busy the surgeon is. I have always had to wait several weeks for surgery...except the first time when it was an emergency and it was scheduled for the next day.

Good luck. Let us know what he says.
