ACL Recon but when back to climbing
« on: June 08, 2004, 01:32:05 AM »
Hey there,

I tore my ACL, LCL, itb and biceps femoris tendon in a nsty kiting accident. I am 7.5 weeks post op. MY ROM is now -5 - 115 and I can walk now without problems even upstairs (down stairs is a bit of a problem).

However, I am really keen to get back into climbing as soon as possible. Hence are there any climbers out there who had an ACL reconstruction, how long did it take to get back to climbing?

Also I am right now thinking about getting back into top roping while locking my injured knee and only using one foot. Obviously my PT said I should not but I can't see how this could damage my knee.

Cheers,
Philip

Man, you banged you knee up good!

I had a motorcycle accident and only the ACL tear!  I too am wondering about when I will be able to walk again (surgery scheduled for 8/9), cause I want to ride again!

Hope someone answers you question!

Get well!!!!! ;)
Motorcycle Accident (I was rear-ened), complete ACL tear, left knee.

Had allograft 8/9/04.
CPM machine used for 21 hours first day - 90 degrees ROM as of today!
I'm not a big baby afterall!
