I had a cortisone injection 10 months ago and my knee flared up really bad. I was dancing around each day for hours bored in the corona virus. I though the swelling would go down. It did not.

After 3 months I contacted my OS and he said try to rest.

I have tried mobic and tumeric. That did something

Massage seems to be the best

Everyday I massage the hell out of my knee.

I am wondering if anyone has any remedies to make the swelling go down?

Ice? A topical anti inflammatory gel?
Are you sure too much massage isn’t exacerbating the inflammation?
What’s the history with the knee, is there arthritis for example?
PRP can have a strong anti inflammatory effect, if arthritic hyaluronic acid injections can help reduce inflammation too.
Perhaps discuss with a rheumatologist to check there’s no systemic cause
Came off bike onto concrete 9/9/09 (lat meniscus, lat condyle defect)
LK scopes 8/2/10 & 16/12/10
RK scope 5/2/15 (menisectomy, Hoffa’s fat pad trim)
LK scope 10.1.19 medial meniscectomy, trochlea MFX
LK scope 19.4.21 MFX to both condyles & trochlea, patella cartilage shaved, viscoseal, depo-medrone

I feel cortisone shots are harmful and doctors should only offer stem cells and PRP instead of cortisone.
I'd find a quality PRP doctor asap if I were you.

History is dashboard crash with lateral patella femoral damage. The OS did a lateral facetechomy on the patella and plica removal.

I had stem cells injected after the cortisone which was my second and final injection (lucky). Not sure the helped the tendons around my knee.

I will try the gel but yeah massage seems to get rid of the inflammation and heat is good to.

My knee is really bad. I cant believe it did this to me

Cortisone is harmful to the human body.  Why any doctor would choose cortisone over stem cells/PRP is a mystery to me.
