Portal site leaking
« on: February 05, 2022, 04:12:46 PM »
I had arthroscopy 2 weeks 2 days ago.
At the 2 week mark, the lower medial portal started leaking a thin pink fluid.
This went on for two days and yesterday my doctor said it was a hematoma and to keep it covered.
I am skeptical about it being a hematoma because there is no redness or bruising at the incision.
Today it has not leaked yet but there is a bubble of fluid under the incision which becomes very noticeable when I flex my knee.
I have read about synovial fistulas and wondering if that could be my issue.
My knee does not have any signs of infection but it hurts a lot so I am still on crutches. I have a burning type pain in that area.
Anyone experience something like this?
