Is there any relation to Shin Splints and Patellar Maltracking Disorder and Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome? I believe that they can be related. Foot mechanics do contribute to Shin Splints but when Shin Splints are flared up especially Anterior Shin Splints, dorsiflexion of the foot is affected which then has an affect on foot strike pattern and the biomechanics of the foot/ankle is compromised even more. This could induce abnormalities in the foot function, restricting proper shock attenuation and could cause additional strain on joints, muscles, tendons, etc. If left untreated in an overuse situation, cold this cause or lead to Patellar Maltracking Disorder and Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome? What are your thoughts on this?
