Lateral knee pain
« on: August 18, 2021, 05:20:29 AM »
For several weeks have had pain on outside of left knee when lying down. Most comfortable with knee bent, but has a tendency to lock up, or perhaps just too painful to straighten. Condition alleviated by standing up. Makes sleeping very disrupted. Any ideas

Could be arthritis and/or a meniscus tear, locking suggests tissue or loose body getting trapped?
See a doctor for examination, and potentially imaging :) how old are?

I’m getting very similar, physio reckons cartilage (or overuse as I’ve had injury and two surgeries to the other leg in past year)

ThanksVickster. Pretty much my thoughts. Saw an Emergency room Physician ten days ago, who felt I wouldn’t get an MRI because of my age (73) and the probability of Osteoarthritis. Currently on holiday, on the water, but will try to get an Orthopedic referral, once home,
Pain experienced is actually significantly greater than my RQT, eight years ago.🙄
