The last surgery they  removed a medial plica that was supposedly compressing 1/3 of my knee capsule. This lump sometimes catches when I'm walking so I planned on massaging it to help prevent/reduce catching when I'm walking, but I'm not sure which direction I should be massaging it towards, would you massage the lump towards or away from the centre of the knee [the patella area]?

I’d get advice from physio or massage therapist. How long ago was the scope, as this may affect any possibility of improvement.
There is something called serrapeptase that can help with scar tissue remodelling, might be worth some research if it’s really that bothersome (it’s quite costly). Again get physio advice
Came off bike onto concrete 9/9/09 (lat meniscus, lat condyle defect)

LK scope 19.4.21 MFX to both condyles & trochlea, patella cartilage shaved, viscoseal, depo-medrone

No idea, see an expert.
Maybe one that offers Grastin technique (maybe only in some countries, US?)
