Well it's been a while since I last posted here..

In short, I had a fulkerson osteotomy and vmo advancement nearly 8 years agoand it worked!

One thing I've never been able to do much is run without pain in my shin. Never really been much of an issue to me as I was never much of a runner in the first place.
Anyhow, getting off track here, my wife would like to try out the couch to 5 k and I'd like to join her if possible. Has anyone any suggestions regarding managing the shin discomfort? Hopefully it'll be a case of finding the right footwear. I've got 3 screws lurking there but I think they're probably best off staying put so long after and I don't think it would be worth risking upsetting the nerves there again as they're still a bit iffy at times.

Insight would be much appreciated!

Dec 07 - Scope, just a clear up.
Feb 09 - Plica removal
Nov 09 - Lateral release
Mar 11 - More done to LR and some 'tweaks'
Nov 12 - Fulkerson and possible vmo advancement, dont know yet!

Brooks running shoes are the absolute best but should be purchased according to both length (and the more commonly neglected width measurements)

D width- everything in the stores has this width
2E width- a little wider, you'll have to shop in stores- figure out which pair is best- then order online; I own a pair of size 13 2e adrenaline GTS--->extremely comfortable
4E width- the widest- you probably should go with D or 2E
