Too soon to tell? Post lateral repair
« on: February 14, 2020, 02:36:45 AM »
I had a discoid  trimmed /saucerized and unexpected lateral meniscus repair done 3 1/2 months ago. It was feeling painful 10 weeks post op in the joint line still in a way that was concerning to me and the surgeon and then I twisted my knee on the stairs and it appears or seems according to the MRI and consult maybe I tore something else. The intense pain that brought on seems to be getting a bit better. The surgeon and the second opinion surgeon state a trim is needed-as well as a look around to see if repair is successful or not.  In anybodyís estimation whoís been through something similar: do you think that perhaps it just needs a few more months to really heal from the initial surgery? Iím super on the fence about a second surgery but at the same time want to try to resume normal activity and be out of pain . Maybe it just need more time? Thoughts? Thanks
