Feeling of knee giving away 5 years after total knee replaceemtn
« on: November 09, 2019, 07:40:29 PM »
History of the patient:  We are very stressed and worried about her my mother had Total knee replacement in 2014. left knee recovered quite normally but on the right knee back in 2014, they have to redo the surgery due to some infection. She been through lot of pain and the course of very strong antibiotics but finally recovered. She is also diabetic and takes the following pills (Metformin, Januvia, Insulin, Effexor XR, and one of the statin drugs for cholesterol etc)

After her TKRP she been doing fine until yesterday. She does normal house chores like cooking cleaning taking care of pet Just yesterday she was doing regular work and her right knee gave out. She thinks she been getting lot of leg cramps and cramping and that's what caused it. We are not sure and cant makes a doctor's appointment until a few weeks. I gave her a walking cane just to be sure so she has some safety. Can someone please advise is this normal to have knee give away or give out after 5 years down the road. She doesn't run nor she does any extreme work that would put stress on her knee. Please advise.
