Where to travel for knee replacement surgery ?
« on: November 01, 2019, 06:34:30 AM »
Hi everyone,
I am edson from Nigeria. In an accident my knee was fractured i visited many doctors in nigeria.

They were advising to go for a knee replacement surgery and the cost of surgery is very high here.

I thought to travel to other country for the treatment where i can get cheap and quality surgery .

I am 27 years old and able to travel if anyone have knowledge about this then please suggest.

What is the cost in Nigeria? How expensive?
27 is extremely young fir a knee replacement, they have a finite life especially in active young adults, so it's likely you'd need a revision within 20 years which is a difficult option.
Knee replacement should be a last resort so make sure you consult with multiple surgeons about getting the 'best' prosthesis and not the 'cheapest'

In the U.K., a private knee replacement with a specialist surgeon would be 15-20k (so $23-30k)

Good luck
