What does having arthrofibrosis feel like?
« on: September 11, 2019, 10:21:25 PM »
I'm not able to explain what I feel when I try to bend my knee and it's stuck at 30 degrees and I'm not able to find any details on this forum of what arthofibrosis feels like exactly. Any help?

My orif patella fracture details here: https://www.kneeguru.co.uk/KNEEtalk/index.php?topic=76981.0.

hi brokekneeme

hope you are ok. you should see the older posts on the scar tissue problems and AF.
i have a much better flexion than you (about 125 flexion) but im also an AF cadidate like you since my last surgery.
so how does it feel: it feels hot, swollen, inflammed, stiff and ROM is restricted.
the biggest sign: if you load it, it becomes worst because the scar tissues regrow and your knee is more stiff than before.

i think heidi armstrong has described the AF in the best possible way in her website.

with 30grade flexion you cant do much. in PT you should focus on the ROM and not building the quad muscles.
most probably you should go to an expertized OS to have a clean-out and have a very sepecific rehab. dr. millet has written a good paper on that.

best regards
