Post patella acl revision combined with pkr
« on: April 02, 2019, 09:08:15 PM »
I am 12 days post surgery and as this combined operation was a 1st for my surgeon recovery is a little unknown. I was hospitalized for 6days after and had problems coping with pain.(Very unlike me). I am still in an incredible amount of pain with widespread swelling despite resting and icing. I cannot walk more than 400mtrs using both crutches. I have co codamol but am not coping. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Perhaps talk to your GP about a stronger painkiller than co-codamol (presuming you're on the full strength 30/500 and taking 8 a day?). Do you also have an anti inflammatory like naproxen. How often are you icing, every couple of hours? Are you elevating your knee above your heart while lying?

Are you feeling at all unwell, if so go get checked that there's no possibility of infection

The first few weeks after major surgery can be rough so hang in there. Trying to walk as far as 400m sounds like you might be overdoing it so soon after what was done

Good luck  :)
