What kind of work do you do?
« on: April 21, 2004, 09:44:14 PM »
Not sure if this has been asked before, but here goes... This may sound odd, and it may not, but I'm curious what kind of jobs everyone has.  I know some are extremely limited by their knee problems and some are a bit luckier and aren't as limited.  So, what does everyone do?  (part-time, full-time, etc.)

Aside from being a full-time college student, I work at a comic book shop doing web/internet work for our online store.  It's nice because I work from home on my computer and I set my own hours (which is extremely helpeful when some days are more painful than others).

I'm a full-time college student and a bank teller.  The bank kills my knee when I can't sit (and when I can't sit I'm usually having to lift heavy coin boxes).

Believe it or not, a boat wake did this to me.

I'm a certified athletic trainer and I work at a D3 College, as an assisstant trainer and professer of athletic training.  I have also been working with our team physicians as a physician extender.  This summer I am going to be working with the St. Louis Ram's training camp.

My knee does make it hard, especially during two a day football practices, when I'm constantly on my feet from 6am until 10pm.

I am a Greenkeeper that basically involves maintaining a Golf Course, that involves lots of manual work, so can be on your feet all day. Not always sitting a ride on mower as many people seem to think we do every day.

I find my knees and recently hips cause probloms but try to work the best I can at a slower pace. Some days I can work without much knee pain while other days its worse.

I would love to work on another Golf Course but cannot untill knees are sorted and can run once again, Nick  :){2004}:)

hi

I am a pediatric nurse practitioner...I am working 20 hours a week right now until after my knee surgery in June...I hope to return to fulltime status after that...I am on my feet constantly except when attempting to get a throat swab from a stubborn child (teeth clenched and spitting)...otherwise I run from room to room with a smile on my face dragging my leg behind me...they call me "peg leg".

I'm a junior in high school and very active in student government and our school newspaper so I usually am at school from 7:15am-6pm or so.

On the weekends, I am a cashier @ petsmart. :) However, after developing shingles and/or cellulitis- I'm going on a 2 month medical leave...
