clopidogrel (platelet thinner) with steroid injection
« on: November 23, 2018, 08:10:20 PM »
I have had 2 steroid injections into knee previously- one worked wonderfully and I got a couple of months pain/swelling free. 2nd one did nothing.
having somewhat run out of options I am booked to have another go at steroid injection with GP but I am a bit concerned as last time I saw knee consultant he said would not give me steroid while I am taking clopidogrel (platelet thinner) reckoned could go badly , my GP never mentioned that being an issue last time I saw him just said book up and will do jab- couldn't do it last time as I had already used most of the 10 minute appt we can have sorting out repeat prescriptions.
has anyone on here had steroid knee injections on thinners? how did it go?
I know steroids don't do joints any good but mine is utterly shot anyway so nothing much left to preserve.

well I had the jab on Friday, easy and pain free at time but was extremely painful by night plus next day Saturday and not great on Sunday either. today (Wednesday) I am feeling benefit of it, pain considerably reduced to below normal level and swelling likewise reduced. I am hoping it lasts a good time.
