ACL recon with hamstring. Tightness under patella
« on: July 11, 2018, 10:55:56 PM »
Hi I am 2+2 post op for an ACL reconstruction using my hamstring.  Weight bearing no problem and generally v strong so off crutches and only using a stick for support on request of Physio. However I have noticed ove4 the past week I am getting a lot more stiffness and it almost feels like I am being restricted from starting an initial bend. I feel like this is due to a build up of scar tissue in 5e region under the patella  and wonder if anyone knows exercises like manipulation of the patella to ease this off?

Surely the physio treating you is best placed to advise? He or she knows exactly what has been done, what the protocol is and crucially can examine and manipulate your knee as required and show you how to do patella mobilisations
Came off bike onto concrete 9/9/09
LK arthroscopy 8/2/10
2nd scope on 16/12/10
RK arthroscopy on 5/2/15
Lateral meniscus trim, excision of hoffa's fat pad, chondral stabilisation
More tears and wear, scope planned in Jan 2019 to tidy up
