Not again ! ACL !!!!
« on: April 19, 2018, 12:32:19 AM »
I tore my acl in my left leg around 4 years ago. I had acl reconstruction 21/2 years ago...long story but it needs replaced. I knew when I hurt that knee right away -worse pain ever. So now Iíve done something to my right leg. Iím not sure what it is. I donít remember doing a thing just standing up and it hurt. The longer I sit the worse it is when I try to walk Itís waking me up at night and very painful. Maybe a little swelling. It hurts in back of my knee and down the front chin and often but not always in my quad area. It has given out a couple of times. When Iím sitting itís fine but I canít be on it without pain.
Question...could I have torn my acl without knowing it ? Or my meniscus ?any other ideas ? Thanks for all your help !
Ps....Iím 54 yrs old - female

Age 54, you will more than likely have degenerate meniscus tissue and thus you could easily have damaged it doing pretty much nothing beyond the ordinary. Is the knee arthritic which could account for your symptoms too and make meniscus damage more likely

Sounds like you should see a knee specialist for examination and potentially imaging

Good luck :)
Came off bike onto concrete 9/9/09
LK arthroscopy 8/2/10

Lateral meniscus trim, excision of hoffa's fat pad, chondral stabilisation
LK scope 10.1.19 medial menisectomy, trochlea microfracture, general tidy up
