Post PLC repair and Athroscopy - Still Swelling?!
« on: April 12, 2018, 01:23:07 PM »
Hi All.

My husband has had 3 ACL reconstructions. last year they realized his residual instability in his knee was due to the PCL being torn. This was repaired summer 2017. autumn 2017 they did another surgery to replace his meniscus (what was left anyway after 8 surgeries!) with an Allograft. he was non weight baring for 4 months. he then couldn't achieve a 90deg bend and had to have an arthroscopy to clear out the knee. he is now 1 month post arthroscopy, and pain is reduced, and most swelling gone, but as soon as he is walking around etc without his compression tights, it really wells up very noticeably. you would think by now we would be experts in 'all things knee' but this hasn't happened before and he is very concerned. he has reached out to his surgeon, but he hasn't come back to him (1 week ago!). is this level of irritation and swelling normal!? there is no heat or redness so it isn't an infection, it just seems to flare up a lot when he has been walking about?!

thanks
