Numbness after acl reconstruction
« on: March 13, 2018, 08:35:09 AM »
I have had a ACL reconstruction 9 months ago and have a patch of numbness near calf muscle in the operated leg.  Now there is some kind of redness / rashes on the numb area. Why is this ?

Speak to your doctor.  Numbness is not unusual as nerves often get damaged or injured during knee surgery but any redness around the calf should be checked out
Came off bike onto concrete 9/9/09
LK arthroscopy 8/2/10
2nd scope on 16/12/10
RK arthroscopy on 5/2/15
Lateral meniscus trim, excision of hoffa's fat pad, chondral stabilisation
More tears and wear, scope planned in Jan 2019 to tidy up

Got it checked from my doctor and he said it is a neurological problem due to damage of nerves during operation.. He says redness is part of the healing process and will go away in time...
presently redness has reduced a lot but slight burning sensation is still there. No swelling or any pain..
