Swelling after return to FWB?
« on: June 18, 2017, 11:15:30 PM »
Hi everyone,

Anyone else have swelling come back after returning to FWB? I'm 6.5 weeks out from a microfracture in my central trochlea and have been FWB without the immobilizer brace or crutches for 5 days now. The swelling in my knee had gone down pretty significantly, but as soon as I took the brace of my knee blew back up. It's pretty swollen, almost 80% as bad as it was immediately postop. Pain isn't bad but it feels "heavy"

Perhaps more concerning is the trend; the swelling has seemed to get worse each day I am FWB. My PA/OS isn't too concerned and my PT doesn't think it looks that bad but says we should keep an eye on it. Anyone else experience a similar re-swell after going FWB? If so, did it start at it's worst on day 1 FWB, or continue to get worse over the first few days as mine has?
