Meniscus repair fail (within two weeks of surgery)
« on: June 08, 2017, 03:31:53 AM »
I recently (May 26) had my seventh knee surgery on my right knee. This was my second meniscectomy, and in addition to removal my surgeon also did a repair to the posterior medial. I spent the first week on crutches. The second in my brace, but I also moved around the house with just the ace bandage. I've done nothing more than walk on my leg; it has been almost two weeks post op. I saw my surgeon yesterday who said swelling is very minimal. However, I have joint line tenderness, as well as a minor tightness radiating from behind my knee. I did not feel this discomfort in the initial week post op.

Can anyone tell me if this is consistent with post op recovery or with my sutchers failing?

I cant say for sure if your problem is caused from your stiches but based on my experience everytime i've had stiches my inscion site seemed to be very tight.
I've had  2 arthoscopic surgeries and just had a high tibial osteotomy. I recently had my stiches and staples removed and believe it or not it felt like my knee/leg had sooo much pressure released it actually felt good.
