Graft from the other leg
« on: April 28, 2017, 02:15:41 AM »
Hello guys,

I had my ACL reconstruction done 2 weeks ago in London under Mr Sam Church. He is a very good surgeon, i was really happy with him.

I have one question, when i came for consultation he told me he will take the graft from my other leg, he told me why but i did not get it. I finished surgery everything is ok but my OK leg has stiches and he took the graft from it.

Why is that?

Yes - different surgeons will have different opinions, but basically it could be argued that your torn knee should not be compromised by deliberately harvesting the graft on that side.
