How easy is it to pull hamstring graft from insertion point?
« on: April 23, 2017, 02:40:01 AM »
Hello, I had an acl surgery last week which according to the doctor went well. I was feeling quite alright and it has been a pain free time so far. However due to the lack of pain most probably I have been flexing my knee a bit and now it hurts. How easy is it to pull the hamstring graft from the insertion points having in mind I am almost in week two after the operation?

Not that easy. And if you had done so, the knee would probably feel unstable.

As I understand it, weeks 6-12 are the most risky time for the graft, not the first few weeks.  Make sure you follow the physio's /surgeon's rehab protocol to the letter and don't go all gung ho because you think it feels ok (do the exercises they have told you to do when and how they have done so) :)
They have the experience in doing this, you are new to it :)  It's a marathon not a sprint :)  Think in terms of months and not weeks
