Pain for 3 weeks now...should I get it checked out?
« on: April 21, 2017, 06:39:56 PM »
For about 3 weeks now, I have been having pain in my left knee.  The pain is right above where my kneecap starts and to the right of  my knee. Almost like the pain is cupping my kneecap. It hurts when I bend it or lift it. Once I am walking I am ok. I have been waiting it out because it is nothing that I can't handle, and am hoping it goes away on its own. Last night I woke up and there was severe pain in it, to where I could hardly move it. Once I got it moving it was ok. My coworker suggested fluid may be in there. However, it is not swollen. I also had no injury that I can  think of. I am 30 years old and have never had any knee issues before.

Thanks everyone!

Patello-femoral syndrome? Go get checked by a specialist knee physiotherapist

Have you started a new exercise or upped your exercise a lot?

If you're not intolerant to anti inflammatories, massage the knee a couple of times a day with an anti inflammatory gel (get the 10% ibuprofen or strongest Voltaren gel, what country are you in?). You can also try an ice or heat pack (or a bath) to see if those help
