New hip pain
« on: February 24, 2008, 06:53:50 PM »

I'm not sure why, but it started yesterday on the right hip opposite my "bad" knee.  I can't stand straight, ice doesn't work, and I can't really put weight on it. I also have the indentation in my butt that wasn't there before.

The other part that's scary is that they start growing my cartilage cells for my ACI Monday, and once I have the surgery I will be 6 weeks NWB on my left which will put all the weight on the right side.

Has anyone else had anything like this?

I have but the pain is caused by bone spurs in my back that are pinching a nerve in my hip. Also a little bit of arthritis. If you're favoring your bad knee then you're putting a lot more stress on your hip.

Saw the OS today, and he took xrays, but it is the arthritis in my hip combined with low back pain, I guess from trying to guard my knee.
