Hi all, I posted a message in Oct 2003 after being diagnosed as having a misaligned patella due to a dislocation when I was 16. I went to visit an OS in the UK as I am a voluntary worker at 2500 metres up a mountain in Africa each year so this was going to be a big problem! He asked me to reconsider going to this particular location to work and foresaw problems. However, I went back as usual this year with a knee-brace and walking stick... and the amazing news is that for 7 weeks I was walking about 10km a day on average up and down steep, rocky terrain and had NO problem at all. In fact, I was worse last year when I hadn't gone prepared with the brace and stick. I was so pleased so I thought I'd share the good news with fellow knee suffers. Could it be that the heat was good for my ailing knee?
