1 year post op MPFL- Torn MCL?
« on: March 09, 2017, 03:51:44 AM »
In mid-April of 2016, I had MPFL reconstruction in my left knee. Post-surgical pain subsided but never really went away. In January of this year, I had another MRI done to look at everything going on. It turns out, I have a torn MCL in my left knee, but it's a low-grade tear. The thing that I am having an issue with figuring out WHERE the tear came from. I haven't even returned to hiking since surgery due to the recurrent pain. I went back to the ortho that did my surgery and he said it should get better fairly quickly (<6 weeks). That was in the first few days of January and I'm still having the same level of pain. Could it possibly be related to the screws in my knee? I just want to be able to hike and ride dirtbikes again...

(I am going to another ortho for another opinion, but I just want an idea of what to expect and if I'm looking at another surgery)
