Swelling behind knee
« on: February 24, 2004, 09:38:56 AM »
I've already got a torn meniscus in my right knee  :'(  so I was trying to favor it.  I was getting up from doing my quad exercises and must have strained the left knee.  I had all my weight on it getting up.  I should have used a chair.  I don't remember if I twisted it or not.  It was stiff and sore at first.  Now there's a lot of swelling behind the knee.  Please don't tell me I might have torn the other meniscus.   :'(  Could it just be a pulled muscle?  The swelling is right above the crease in the knee.  It's a soft lump.  Doesn't hurt to press on it.  The knee cap is kind of sore too esp. on the lateral side.
Diagnosis anyone?
I'm just so grateful for this board.   :-/  Good to know one's not alone.

Possibly a Baker's cyst. Often when you do damage to the front of the knee it manifests itself my pushing internal fluid to the back side of the knee. If it keeps up best see OS. Good luck!
