TKR
« on: February 22, 2004, 05:01:47 PM »
I am having a TKR in just over a week. I am 70 years old and in otherwise good health. I am a little apprehensive.
Anyone been through it recently who would like to reassure me?

Hi,

I have not been through a TKR but thought you might be encouraged by what I have to say. At physical therapy I met a man probably around your age or older. He had been through 2 TKR's (both knees) and 2 hip replacements (same hip). He was doing fine. He goes to the pt gym every morning to do his exercises. He is trying to build muscle back in his hip and bum. He said the TKR's weren't as bad as the hip replacements. He made it through just fine and keeps plugging away. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wishing you the best for your surgery :D :D :D :D
