ACL operation decision when to have it
« on: April 29, 2016, 01:40:10 PM »
I have decided to have an ACL hamstring reconstruction.  My dilemma is if to have it done before I go away in 10 weeks.  Would I be fit enough 8 weeks post operation to sit on a plane for 9.5 hours and do lots of walking while away for 12 days?

Personally I'd wait especially if you can take the time off work post holiday

Perhaps discuss with your physiotherapist whether a support would be sensible while walking if the knee is unstable to avoid any potential damage to the knee, especially bony surfaces
Came off bike onto concrete 9/9/09
LK arthroscopy 8/2/10
2nd scope on 16/12/10
RK arthroscopy on 5/2/15
Lateral meniscus trim, excision of hoffa's fat pad, chondral stabilisation
LK scope 10.1.19 medial menisectomy, trochlea microfracture, general tidy up
