Is swelling normal when returning to sports after ACLr?

Just played flag football for the first time since surgery. Is swelling normal?

8 months post-op. Hamstring autograft.

Thanks!

I would say so. Make sure you ice and elevate the knee properly. Contact your PT if it doesn't improve fairly quickly (a few days). You may well find your knee reacts different to activity than before the surgery. An operated knee is highly unlikely to ever get back to pre op 'normal'
